The UK’s first electric vehicle education centre welcomes MINI as a new test drive partner.
The Electric Vehicle Experience Centre is part of Milton Keynes Council’s Go Ultra Low City Scheme, and has just entered its 3rd year of operation. The EVEC supports Milton Keynes in growing the uptake of electric vehicles in the area as well as across the country.
MINI joins the centre as an official OEM partner, alongside other electric vehicle manufacturers, with two brand-new MINI Countryman plug-in hybrids joining the existing fleet of experience vehicles.
David George, Director, MINI UK says; “MINI fully supports what the Electric Vehicle Experience Centre stands for, to inform and transform public opinion about electrified vehicles. The MINI Countryman plug-in hybrid offers complete flexibility, whether it’s for the family commute or a big weekend adventure, so it’s a perfect addition to the EVEC fleet.”
A MINI Countryman will be available at the Centre for free short-term test drives from 19th September with plans to also offer the vehicle for long term loans in the future.
Based in centre:mk, the EV Experience Centre offers sales-free advice and education of electric vehicles and charging, including the infrastructure available. Visitors can also experience electric cars for themselves with a free 20-minute test drive in a range of EVs or a long-term test drive from just £50.
